Whether or not to conduct IP research prior to developing a new product, has been and will continue to be debated for many years. To avoid infringement, we at R2FACT firmly believe that both time and money should be invested to conduct a personal Patent Search which can be done easily on-line through Google Patents and at the USPTO web site.

A Patent Search with a respectable IP law firm may also be necessary and may prove to be even more important than your own on-line search. Regardless of your business model; distributor, wholesaler, manufacture or licensor, engaging a patent agent or patent attorney to conduct a patent search is essential to ensure peace of mind that the product one day being sold is not infringing on another party.
