Prototyping- how it's brought to form
Prototyping is the successful converting of IDEAS to a structured form. It can be expensive and time consuming. The “purpose” of what the Prototype is for must be understood.
Is it a “proof of concept” to convey a general idea only to gain interest? Is it a model to photograph and show only to promote or gain further interest? Is it a “black box” prototype to be fully functional to prove it works? Does it need to be tested to look, feel and work like the real thing? Do multiple prototypes need to be made for more thorough Testing? Knowing who your target is and what stage you are in will drive the design and engineering process so the proper prototype is made.
R2FACT has compiled a vast network of rapid prototyping, machine shops and fabricators throughout its 20+ years of business. Materials, processes, technology, complexity, function, cost and time all affect which level of prototyping is possible and needed for any product development. R2FACT can manage it all with our vast network of shops in metropolitan Kansas City, Atlanta, California, and abroad in China and Taiwan. (more) |
